Words from Chair of Governors

Words from the Chair of Governors

I am pleased to introduce this prospectus about St Joseph’s Catholic High School, which has established a strong educational and caring tradition since its formation in 1929.

We have a school to be proud of and would like to extend a very warm welcome to any families who may wish to join us.

Our school mission is very clear.  ‘At St Joseph’s Catholic High School we will challenge you to aim high, we expect you to succeed’.  Our approach in school is shaped by our Catholic foundations which determine the essentially Christian nature of our activities.

Increasingly this ethos is extending to families from other Christian denominations who share the values and vision we have for our children.

We are delighted to have a very forward looking and ambitious Governing Body and their goal is one I know we can all support; they want St Joseph’s to be an Outstanding school because the children and families we serve deserve nothing less than the best.  The Governors work closely with the Head teacher and the school staff to help make this happen.

Please find the time to read through our prospectus but even better than that, why not come to see our school in action.  This can be done very easily by contacting the school.  When you enter the buildings, I hope you will be struck by the strong images and words in our foyer area.  These images and words say everything about our school.  Whilst we want academic success, whilst we want ambition and whilst we have high expectations in every regard, we also want our pupils to grow up as confident, caring, thoughtful, tolerant and polite young people who think not only of themselves and their interests but how their actions impact on others.

I meet with the Head teacher each week and so I see first-hand, I know that we are succeeding in our goal.  You are very welcome to come and see for yourself.
